Bio: Adopted and raised by a WWII veteran, and being a veteran myself, I really found a passion for preserving the history of the veterans of the Greatest Generation. It started with my father’s WWII unit and the more research that I did one thing quickly became clear. When I asked families of my father’s Combat Engineer unit a simple question, they almost always had the same answer, they had no idea what their father went through during the war. My mission then shifted slightly from strictly collecting and preserving their story to also educating others on their story. As my journey continued I found that my father’s unit had been attached to many different units throughout the war and as I started looking for more information on those units I discovered that there wasn’t really much out to be found so I started to “adopt” those units.
Not only have I been trying to tell the stories of these veterans and their units I’ve also helped several people get started on their journey of discovery. This has lead to more WWII websites coming online, books being finished, families learning about their fathers who never returned from the war.
