Bio: Yuri Beckers is a Dutch man living in Copenhagen, Denmark. Since a very early age he became interested in World War Two. Since 2002 an interest began in the Battle of the Hurtgen Forest in Germany, and after studying this battle, he became fascinated by the actions and history of the U.S. 9th Infantry Division. For the last 10 years Yuri has been doing dedicated research to the World War 2 history of this great 9th Infantry Division. Over the years he has gathered a lot of information about the 9th Division, and has one of the most reliable and authoritative websites on the 9th Infantry Division.
Yuri is currently writing a book about the involvement of the 9th Infantry Division in the Battle of the Hurtgen Forest, for which he has been in touch with about 25 veterans and over 200 family members.
Services: Specialized in providing information about the actions or men of the 9th Infantry Division. Through extensive documentation and knowledge, detailed information can be provided in regards to the events of a soldier’s death, service history, or general information about the 9th Infantry Division’s history.
Yuri also works on a special Missing In Action Project together with a small dedicated team. The goal is to find information for each MIA soldier, and give these names a face through a picture and a story. The project is going well so far.
