I have a new client who has a few photographs we are seeking help identifying. His father wrote on the back of one that there was a story behind the bombed out building and that the cathedral (you can see the spire in one photo in the back) was the longest he’d ever seen. We are unsure where this is.
Do you recognize the building or area? Please leave a message in the comments.
Thank you for your help!

Looks a lot like the military barracks I lived in fuerth Germany. I was there in 1971 and 1972. It was battalion hq for the 793rd military police then your pictures are from the end of ww2. Fuerth is a suburb of neuremburg

Does anyone know how I can identify soldiers in a picture that was taken of my grandpa and his friends

Hi Maria,
I would suggest if you know where the photo was taken (training camp?) and what unit he was in, then it might be possible if you contact that unit’s organization, they might be able to help. Many WWII units have reunion groups/associations and you can google to find them. If you only know that it is at camp or overseas somewhere but have no other details – it is unlikely you will identify the others.
If you have a blog, I would suggest writing a post about it and posting the photo. Maybe someone will be looking for your grandpa as they research and be able to help.
