Learn how to research WWII service online this month!
The first place everyone goes when researching a veteran is online. Depending on which war, World War I, World War II, Korea, or Vietnam, you will find different records. Some in abundance and others not so much.
For almost 15 years I’ve been teaching people my two-part military research strategy, how to write stories, and how to research online. I know how time consuming it can be to search and not find the answers you seek when you search online.
I have experienced the frustration when searching the NARA Catalog and coming up with few to zero results when I know something exists. There are answers and puzzle pieces to your veteran stories available, you may just need to learn some new techniques or website possibilities to locate them.
To help you navigate the go-to websites and some you may have never considered, I’m trying something new in teaching military research online this month. Would you like to join me?
Pay once, learn twice! One webinar, two ways to learn.
This month I’m teaching From Battlefield to Browser twice. You will pay once for your preferred LIVE webinar date and on September 28, receive access to BOTH webinar replays.
Dates: Wed. September 17, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. CST
OR
Sat. September 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. CST
In this 1.5 hour + 30 minute Q&A program you’ll explore:
- A brief explanation of my two-part military research strategy to help you start your research.
- Live walk-through on the ‘Big 4’ – Ancestry, FamilySearch, Fold3, and NARA Catalog.
- Research tips for searching online.
- Live walk-through on additional websites which may provide individual or unit-level context, maps, photographs, and more.
- Military Service Questionnaire and 15-page Program workbook.
- Certificate of Completion.
- Access to both webinar replays.
How is this different than other webinars?
In both programs I will give attendees a live walk-through on Ancestry, FamilySearch, Fold3, and NARA Catalog. We’ll talk about those absolutely vital Army Morning Reports. While I have an outline, when we walk through those websites, I’ll teach different things in both sessions. Those who attend will also have different questions and brick walls at the end which we will discuss.
Plus, you pay one and get access to both replays. BUT the replays will not be straight webinars. I will break them into topics so you can more easily go straight to the segment you need to review. Didn’t quite catch how I navigated Morning Reports on the NARA Catalog – you’ll be able to watch only that segment instead of hunting and pecking through the full webinar replay.
To learn more and register for your preferred date, visit From Battlefield to Browser now and get started. Once you register, please be sure to email me your questions and brick walls for searching online. I’ll cover as many as possible.
